Choose a shape people can recognise

Choose a shape that suits your cause and check its preview before creating the campaign. The selected shape's outline should stay recognisable at different screen sizes; it should not stretch to fill the space.

Only the squares that belong to the shape can be sponsored. The surrounding blank space is not extra fundraising inventory. A long or narrow shape can need more space than a square-shaped grid.

Set a realistic square count and price

Your square count and minimum price work together. For example, 200 squares at a minimum of £5 gives a £1,000 gross minimum if every square is sponsored at that price (or use the equivalent in your campaign currency). Fees, refunds and disputes can reduce the amount you receive.

Choose an entry price your supporters can afford, and enough squares to make progress feel achievable. A very large grid can look empty for a long time. Supporters can sponsor more than one available square.

Confirm the sponsorship currency before publishing and taking payments. It is separate from GoodGrid's GBP platform pricing. Do not assume the same numeric price has the same value in another currency.

Campaign page image or grid reveal?

A campaign page image illustrates your story alongside the campaign information. In the Appearance step, the section Campaign page appearance is for this image; it does not automatically become the hidden picture inside the grid.

To add a hidden reveal image, create the campaign first, then open Edit Campaign. The grid background or reveal image sits within the grid. Check the preview to see how sponsored squares uncover it. It is separate from the campaign page image.

A video helps explain your campaign on its page; it is not a grid background. Use only images and videos you have permission to share. Avoid documents or pictures containing private information.
