Answer the first questions
- Say who you are and who the campaign helps.
- Explain the practical outcome you want to achieve.
- Break down what the money will pay for.
- Explain how sponsoring a square helps, and give one clear next step.
Keep the ask specific
Use your own words and check every claim. You do not need complicated fundraising language.
This example uses GBP; use the equivalent in your campaign currency and make sure the amounts match your actual campaign.
For example
We are raising £1,000 for new equipment for our community group. Sponsor a square from £5 to help us reach the target. We will post an update here when the equipment arrives.
Build trust without overpromising
Use real images with permission, introduce the organiser and explain material costs or uncertainties. Avoid guarantees about results, tax benefits or payment timing.
If you choose a deadline for your appeal, explain it clearly. GoodGrid's hosting or account dates are not automatically your fundraising deadline.
Post progress updates when there is useful news. If you choose to email followers, review the notification option before posting. Sponsoring does not automatically mean someone has consented to campaign emails.
